• Does this tunnel have to be connected to a crate? Can it be used alone?

  Absolutely! This is one of the key advantages of PawHut cat tunnel. Thanks to the sturdy solid wood frame, the tunnel is perfectly stable on its own and can be used independently as a fun passage and hiding spot. You can place it in the living room, hallway, or by the window — your cat will love it just the same.

• How wide are the wire mesh gaps? Is there any risk of a kitten’s paw getting stuck?

  Rest assured. We specifically use fine-patterned wire mesh (12mm x 12mm grid) with sufficient wire thickness (0.7mm diameter). This design ensures excellent ventilation and visibility while effectively preventing kittens or small cats from getting their paws caught, ensuring complete safety.
  
  

• Can I mount it on the wall or attach it to a cat tree?

  If you wish to mount this outdoor cat run
  on a wall or elevate it for a multi-level setup, we recommend the following:

  • For wall mounting: Use self-tapping screws to securely fasten the tunnel frame to the wall.
  • For platform connections: You may set up or purchase a stable platform and align the tunnel entrance with the platform exit.
    (Note: If modifying, ensure all connections are secure and check regularly to prevent accidents.)
• Can this tunnel be used on a balcony or patio?

  Yes! The tunnel is treated with eco-friendly outdoor water-based paintthat offers moisture and weather resistance, making it suitable for indoor, balcony, or semi-outdoor environments(e.g., under eaves).
  However, we do not recommend prolonged direct exposure to rain or intense sunlight, as this may shorten the product’s lifespan over time. Simply wipe it dry with a cloth after use.

However, since it features removable doors (32×32 cm) on both ends and sides, DIY enthusiasts can use additional accessories like connecting adapters, brackets, or fixtures to extend the tunnel to a crate, balcony, or window—giving your cat more space to explore safely.
